Central United Methodist Church

One of the many projects the studio had the pleasure of completing honored the memory of a beloved friend and community member of Phoenix, Arizona’s Central United Methodist Church. Donated by the Johnston family in remembrance of Jo Johnston, the window is steeped in both religious symbolism and specialized painting techniques that reflect the artistic style Jo was known for; offering a unique way to pay tribute to the talented watercolorist that she was.

Designed by our Director of Art Development, Kathy Jordan, the window depicts the scene of the Annunciation. The setting, an open loggia or portico, is inspired by Italian Renaissance depictions of the Annunciation.
