Temple Beth Zion

The Willet Studio creates two monumental stained glass windows and a seven-foot tall Menorah based on paintings by well-known Jewish artist Ben Shahn for Temple Beth Zion in Buffalo, NY between 1965-1967. According to Henry Willet’s wife Muriel, “He entrusted the creations of his mind and hands, his dreams in watercolor to the rigors of translation into that exacting medium of stained glass.” His work was translated into the glass medium Belgian painter and designer Benoit Gilsoul.
