You might think our skills here at Associated Crafts® & Willet Hauser Architectural Glass begin and end at stained glass windows but that couldn’t be further from the truth! We’re a stained glass studio with a robust toolbelt of skills and expertise to help churches, places of worship, and other architectural arts! One of those skillsets we wanted to talk more about this time on the blog is liturgical painting. If you’re curious about this service and how it might serve you read on!

First, it’s important to distinguish between liturgical painting and liturgical art.  The word liturgical means ‘relating to public worship.’ While painting and art might seem to mean the same thing – there’s nuance between the two. While our stained glass windows are art, for our purposes when we’re talking about liturgical painting it’s not so much about those scenes of worship as it is the surfaces of the walls inside and outside the building. Those surfaces are important too, and like the stained glass windows there is a certain care that’s necessary.

That’s why Associated Crafts® & Willet Hauser Architectural Glass is providing it!

Our 120 years of experience building, creating, and restoring stained glass windows gave us the know-how to work inside places of worship with the care and respect they deserve.

Liturgical Painting and Restoration Work

Interior & Exterior Painting

The walls and surfaces of your church are just as important as the stained glass windows.  The interior walls help brighten the mood, and increase the appeal while your services are in progress. Really they have a huge effect on the congregation – whether they know it or not!

Unfortunately, we can’t control the weather so the exterior of our places of worship are buffeted by the elements and can take a beating in particularly bad storms, or just succumb to the long-term damage from sun exposure. In either case, you can do something to help!

With exterior painting from Associated Crafts® & Willet Hauser you can get coats of protective paint applied to restore the beauty of your property and keep it looking it’s best for years to come.  We use high-end Sherwin-Williams® Paints to ensure the best quality outcome.

Pew Restoration
OK, yes, pews don’t really have anything to do with liturgical ‘painting’ at least not directly. But it’s a service adjacent to painting that we are proud to offer our clients. What better time to perform maintenance and restorative work on wood pews than when we’re already in there painting the walls and tending to windows? Getting all of the labor done at one time makes the process as painless as possible for your congregation. To restore the pews Associated Crafts® & Willet Hauser utilize industry-standard wood repair techniques to restore the surfaces and structural integrity of your pews.
